Yarnie Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Yarnie ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Yarnie. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

2. Description of Service

Yarnie is a mobile application that provides:

  • Pattern Tutorials: Over 200 crochet and knitting patterns with step-by-step guides across 14 categories.
  • Technique Videos: Instructional videos for crochet and knitting techniques.
  • AI Assistant: An on-device AI assistant powered by Apple Intelligence that answers questions about patterns and techniques.
  • Social Features: A community feed where users can share projects, follow other users, like and comment on posts, save posts, and send direct messages.
  • Subscription Plans: Premium access to all patterns through weekly, monthly, or annual subscriptions.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Types

  • Guest Account: You may use Yarnie as a guest with limited functionality. Guest accounts are anonymous and do not require personal information.
  • Apple Account: You may sign in with your Apple ID for full access to all features, including social features, cloud sync, and subscriptions.

3.2 Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account.
  • All activities that occur under your account.
  • Providing accurate information (including date of birth for age verification).
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Account Upgrade

Guest accounts may upgrade to Apple accounts at any time. Upon upgrade, your local progress is migrated to the cloud.

4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

4.1 Subscription Plans

Yarnie offers the following subscription plans for premium pattern access:

  • Yarnie Weekly: Weekly auto-renewing subscription.
  • Yarnie Monthly: Monthly auto-renewing subscription.
  • Yarnie Annual: Annual auto-renewing subscription.

4.2 Billing

All subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. By purchasing a subscription:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.

4.3 Free and Premium Content

Approximately 40% of patterns are available for free. Premium patterns (approximately 60%) require an active subscription. Free patterns include simpler items such as keychains, coasters, bookmarks, letters, and numbers.

4.4 Refunds

Refund requests must be submitted through Apple's refund process. We do not handle refunds directly. Visit https://reportaproblem.apple.com for refund requests.

5. User-Generated Content

5.1 Your Content

You may create and share content through the App, including:

  • Social media posts (images and captions).
  • Comments on other users' posts.
  • Direct messages to other users.
  • Profile information (username, bio, profile photo).

5.2 License to Yarnie

By posting content on Yarnie, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content within the App and for promotional purposes. This license ends when you delete your content or account, except for copies that other users may have saved or shared.

5.3 Content Standards

You agree not to post content that:

  • Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, or defamatory.
  • Contains hate speech, discrimination, or promotes violence.
  • Is sexually explicit or contains nudity.
  • Infringes on any third party's intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Contains spam, advertising, or commercial solicitations.
  • Impersonates any person or entity.
  • Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code.

5.4 Content Moderation

We reserve the right to:

  • Remove or disable access to any content that violates these Terms.
  • Suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate content standards.
  • Report illegal content to appropriate law enforcement authorities.

Users may report content that violates our standards through the in-app reporting system.

5.5 Marketing and Advertising Use

We may use anonymized and aggregated app data (such as app install events, subscription events, and usage metrics) for marketing and advertising purposes, including running purchase campaigns on third-party platforms such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram). This helps us promote Yarnie to potential users and optimize our advertising efforts. No personally identifiable user-generated content (posts, messages, or profile details) is shared with advertising platforms. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.

6. AI Features

6.1 Yarnie AI Assistant

The Yarnie AI assistant is powered by Apple Intelligence Foundation Models and operates entirely on your device:

  • AI responses are generated locally using Apple's on-device language model.
  • No AI conversation data is transmitted to our servers or any cloud service.
  • AI sessions are temporary and not stored after the session ends.

6.2 Limitations

  • AI responses are informational only and should not be considered professional advice.
  • The AI may occasionally provide inaccurate information about patterns or techniques.
  • We are not responsible for any outcomes resulting from following AI-generated instructions.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Pattern Content

All pattern content, including instructions, images, materials lists, and step-by-step guides, is owned by Yarnie (a brand of People Park) and is protected by copyright law.

7.2 Personal Use Only

Patterns are provided for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or sell pattern instructions.
  • Create derivative works from our patterns for commercial purposes.
  • Share your account or subscription with others to access premium content.

7.3 App Content

The Yarnie app, including its design, features, code, and branding, is the property of People Park and is protected by intellectual property laws.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the App or its content.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure or other users' experience.
  • Harass, bully, or intimidate other users.
  • Impersonate other users or People Park staff.
  • Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
  • Circumvent any access controls or subscription requirements.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
  • Pattern instructions will produce specific results.
  • AI-generated content will be accurate or complete.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PEOPLE PARK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN SUBSCRIPTION FEES DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11. Termination

11.1 By You

You may stop using the App at any time. You can delete your account through the App's Settings.

11.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for:

  • Violation of these Terms.
  • Conduct that we determine is harmful to other users or our service.
  • Extended periods of inactivity (with prior notice).

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Data deletion follows our Data Deletion Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Istanbul, Turkey.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes:

  • We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top.
  • We will notify you through the App by requiring re-acceptance of the updated Terms.
  • The updated version will be posted at https://yarnie.peoplepark.app/app-terms.

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
